Arts education programs provide schools with opportunities to promote skills while preparing students to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Innovation and creativity abound as students delve into curriculum-based projects involving the visual arts, theatre, creative writing, dance, and music. Host schools collaborate with VSA New Jersey to design programs around goals including skills development and reinforcement of academic content knowledge.
This signature program fosters understanding and appreciation of the arts while promoting skills essential for academic success and personal growth.
VSA New Jersey honors students with disabilities ages 14 to 21 for outstanding artistic achievement and educators who develop exemplary arts programming. Recipients become candidates for the New Jersey Governor’s Awards in Arts Education.
VSA New Jersey offers comprehensive visual and performing arts programming for students with disabilities. Mentoring opportunities allow participants to work directly with professional artists.
